The HKLGFF Short Screenplay Competition seeks to discover new LGBTQ+ storytelling talent from Hong Kong writers. It invites original short screenplays on queer themes. Winners receive mentorship from five industry experts, providing valuable feedback. This year features a distinguished panel of mentors.

Candace CHONG
Playwright, screenwriter, librettist and translator. Six-time winner in Hong Kong Drama Awards: Alive in the Mortuary, Shall We Go to Mars, The French Kiss, Murder in San José, The Professor, May 35th

 LO Chun Yip
Director and actor. Co-founder of “Since They Run Scene”. Starring in Fagara, Suk Suk, Montages of a Modern Motherhood, and Time Still Turns the Pages where he was nominated for Best Leading Actor at the Hong Kong Film Awards.  

Dora NG
Costume and styling designer. Eight-time winner in Hong Kong Film Awards and two-time winner in Golden Horse Awards. Projects: Where the Wind Blows, Better Days, Anita, Comrades: Almost a Love Story, Perhaps Love, Purple Storm, Bodyguards and Assassins.  

Peter YAM
Film producer. The Sunny Side of the Street won Golden Horse Awards for Best New Director, Best Actor and Best Original script; Lost Course won Golden Horse Award for Best Documentary; Another Home won Best Documentary Award in Busan International Film Festival.  

Ray YEUNG
Director and playwright. Artist of the Year in Film 2021 by Hong Kong Arts Development Council. All Shall Be Well had its World Premiere at 2024 Berlinale International Film Festival where it won Teddy Award for Best Feature Film and Panorama Audience Award. Projects: Suk Suk, Front Cover and Cut Sleeve Boys.
