Synopsis
In 2001, 17-year-old Gyeonghwan transfers to a high school in Daegu’s Suseong District, armed with academic brilliance and an abiding love for Japanese culture. To his surprise, his desk mate, the charming class president, also harbours a secret love for Japanese music. What begins as quiet camaraderie soon deepens into a tender and unspoken emotional connection. Set in a time when South Korean society remained unaccepting of diverse sexual identities. The film explores how young men navigated love and desire under the weight of cultural conservatism. Against a backdrop of South Korean and Japanese cultural interplay, this Coming-Of-Age tale captures the beauty of adolescent affection, self-discovery and the quiet ache of forbidden love. The director will attend the first post-screening Sharing.
