Official Selection - San Francisco International LGBTQ Film Festival - FRAMELINE
We welcome back Stephen Cone who directed The Wise Kids and Henry Gamble’s Birthday Party, films that were featured at past HKLGFF, with this summertime coming-of-age story about relationships between strong women across generations dealing with grief in their lives and other romantic matters. Sixteen-year-old Cyd (Jessie Pinnick) goes to stay with her Aunt, a well-known novelist named Miranda Ruth (Rebecca Spence) for summer. Cyd’s mother died when she was young, she’s been living with her depressive father so she’s eager to escape her home for a while. This summer Cyd also finds herself falling for a girl who works in the neighbourhood coffee shop.
